How you can make a difference

Volunteers play a fundamental role in the ability of the Italian Day Centre to deliver aged care services and disability support to its clients and carers. The Italian Day Centre volunteers assist in directly providing services to clients in a variety of ways and settings – meal deliveries to the home, serving meals at the Italian Day Centre, providing social companionship, and visiting clients.

Why is Volunteering Important?

We socially, mentally and physically benefit from helping others which also opens opportunity for personal development.
Volunteering gives us:
- Ways that help us to connect to, and build a stronger community;
- A way of contributing and giving back to the community;
- Ways to expand our networks;
- Pathways for future career development;
- Opportunities to develop professional skills and experience.

How often & where

It will depend on what role you would like to do and what is available at the time. We deliver programs in both Hobart and Launceston and need volunteers in both regions. The best thing to do is to look over the section below and to telephone us to discuss your options. We look forward to working with you to find a role that suits you.
